When faced with the task of creating a commemorative book for the centennial of Falls Creek Conference Center, the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma turned to BOYDesign. Founded in 1917, approximately 100 young adults attended the first summer encampment. Today, more than 50,000 people attend each summer alone, with a total of almost 2.4 million attendees since its inception.
To celebrate Falls Creek’s 100th anniversary in 2017, a colorful, 120-page coffee table book was designed to tell the story of God’s goodness and abundant work at Falls Creek through hundreds of timeless photos and dozens of powerful stories, testimonies and charts.
My own personal connection with Falls Creek began in 1973 when I attended Falls Creek during Texas Week with my youth group from University Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Since moving to Oklahoma in 1978, I’ve had the opportunity to be there numerous times as a workshop leader, youth sponsor or conference attendee.
The book was awarded First Place in Book Design by the Baptist Communicators Association.
