With more than 7,900 trained disaster relief volunteers, the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma Disaster Relief Ministry has the largest such group in the world. In operation since 1973, the ministry has impacted millions of lives, yet has never had a single, centralized base of operations. Equipment and supplies are stored across the Oklahoma City area.
With the purchase of 17 acres northwest of Oklahoma City in Okarche, the first step was taken towards making a decades-old dream come true. The property already had a large structure suitable for remodeling to meet the needs of the Disaster Relief ministry. There was also room for the construction of a large storage facility and additional space for future expansion, as needed.
The BGCO enlisted BOYDesign to create fundraising materials to make the TEaM Center a reality. From concept, to research, to copywriting, to design, BOYDesign created the resources needed to start the project rolling.
UPDATE: Just months into the campaign, more than $2.4 million dollars was raised towards the $2.75 million goal, and when the renovations and new building were completed, it was dedicated debt-free.
