In 2006, after 53 years of service, the Baptist Collegiate Ministries building on the University of Oklahoma campus became unusable for weekly meetings and too costly to repair. At that time, the ministry began meeting in various locations on or near campus. In 2014, the OU Board of Regents purchased the BCM property, and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma was able to secure property on campus to construct a new building. In 2016, the BGCO contacted BOYDesign to create capital fundraising materials to raise $6.27 million to build the new home for OU BCM. Titled Sowing a Legacy, BOYDesign created the logo, brochure and a variety of campaign materials.
Located within walking distance of student dorms and apartments, the new BCM building provides easy access for more than 6,000 students. As a multi-use facility, students can participate in activities focused on prayer, Bible study, worship, training, friendship and fun. On campus for nearly 100 years, the new BCM building provides a strategic base of operations for the next 100.
UPDATE: In October 2019, the new building was dedicated debt-free.
